A new storm has hit the Cameroonian Football Federation after accusations were leveled against its president, former Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Chelsea star Samuel Eto'o, of interfering in team selection. This followed the dismissal of the previous Belgian coach, Marc Brys, and the temporary appointment of his assistant, David Baguou. Baguou also excluded Manchester United's on-loan goalkeeper, Andre Onana, from the squad. The goalkeeper's exclusion was not surprising, as he had previously argued with Eto'o. However, the main issue is that Eto'o, who was recently re-elected as president of the Cameroonian Football Federation for a second time, refused to call up the national team's icon, Vincent Aboubakar, for fear that the striker, who is just 12 goals behind the president's record (56 goals in 118 matches), would break his historic record.
